A private NCC van solves the problem at the root: one vehicle, one driver, one fixed price, the whole group together.
My Rome Driver operates the Mercedes V-Class — or equivalent Vito — for group transport in Rome. Ideal for large families, groups of friends, corporate delegations, cruise passengers from Civitavecchia, and groups arriving at Fiumicino or Ciampino.
Key features:
- Capacity: up to 7 passengers
- Boot: large rear compartment for 5-7 check-in trolleys
- Seats: configurable, with generous legroom
- Comfort: air conditioning, USB ports, water on board
- Accessibility: easy step-in, suitable for passengers with limited mobility
- ZTL: NCC vehicle with historic-centre access authorisation
The van is the standard choice for groups of 5 to 7 passengers. For groups of 1-4, the Mercedes E-Class saloon is available from €55.
| Feature | 2 taxis | NCC van | |---|---|---| | Passengers | 4+2 (or 4+4 with 2 taxis) | up to 7 | | Coordination | Separate | Together | | Fixed price | No (taximeter) | Yes | | Luggage | Limited | Generous (5-7 trolleys) | | ZTL | Restricted | Authorised | | Advance booking | No | Yes |
With 6 passengers, two taxis cost roughly €55-70 each, totalling €110-140 at variable meter rates. The NCC van costs €90 fixed — €10-50 less, with the added benefit of the entire group travelling together.
With 7 passengers the difference is even more pronounced: two 4-seat taxis still require the group to split, with one taxi carrying only 3 passengers yet paying the full fare.
Coordination: arriving at a hotel in the historic centre separately, navigating ZTL restrictions, managing check-in and luggage individually, adds needless stress. With the van the entire group steps out at the same entrance, luggage is unloaded together, and check-in is one single operation.
For non-standard luggage — pushchairs, wheelchairs, golf bags, ski equipment, musical instruments — simply flag this at the time of booking. We adjust the seat configuration to maximise the available space.
Compared to a taxi, which typically manages 2-3 suitcases in the boot with difficulty, the van is the natural solution for families or groups travelling with substantial luggage.
| Route | Van (up to 7 pax) | |---|---| | Fiumicino (FCO) ↔ Rome centre | from €90 | | Ciampino (CIA) ↔ Rome centre | from €75 | | Rome ↔ Civitavecchia port | from €175 | | Rome city tour half day (4 hours) | from €180 | | Rome city tour full day (8 hours) | from €340 | | Rome ↔ Naples | from €320 | | Rome ↔ Positano / Amalfi Coast | from €380 |
Concrete example: group of 6 landing at Fiumicino at 15:00 with 6 check-in suitcases. Transfer Fiumicino → hotel central Rome: €90 fixed, driver waiting in arrivals with name board, luggage loaded, group delivered to the hotel entrance. Cost per person: €15.
For multi-day stays with a dedicated driver (congresses, incentive travel, corporate visits) contact us for a tailored quote.
For city tours and excursions, advance booking is recommended, especially in high season (April–October) and at weekends.
Child seats must be requested at booking with age and weight details. Available at no extra charge with at least 24 hours' notice.
Compared to two separate taxis, the NCC van costs the same or less — and the group always arrives together, without coordination issues, without price surprises.
