The active terminals for arriving passengers are:
| Terminal | Type of flights | Main airlines | |---|---|---| | T1 | Schengen flights (Europe) | ITA Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, Vueling, Ryanair (some EU routes) | | T2 | Charter and low-cost flights | easyJet, seasonal charter flights | | T3 | Extra-Schengen international flights | Delta, American, Emirates, United, British Airways intercontinental |
What this means for you: before you arrive, check your boarding pass or airline app to find out which terminal you land at. The boarding pass always indicates the arrival terminal. If in doubt, check on the ADR (Aeroporti di Roma) website using your flight number. For a full comparison of all transport options from the airport, see the guide to all transport from Fiumicino to Rome.
Terminals T1, T2 and T3 are connected internally via walkways. However, the arrivals exits for T1 and T3 are separate: if your driver is waiting at T3 and you land at T1, notify them immediately.
Route after disembarkation:
- Landing → corridor towards the transit area
- Passport control / border police (for extra-Schengen flights)
- Baggage reclaim (carousels in the T3 arrivals area)
- Customs exit (Nothing to declare → green lane)
- T3 arrivals exit → your driver is here, with a name board
The driver is positioned just beyond the automatic doors of the arrivals exit, in the public welcome area. You will find a row of NCC and private drivers with signs: look for your name.
Average time from gate to exit (T3):
- Schengen flight without customs: 20–35 minutes
- Extra-Schengen flight with passport control + customs: 40–70 minutes
Let us know at the time of booking if yours is an intercontinental flight (long wait at passport control) so the driver can manage the waiting time accordingly.
Route after disembarkation:
- Landing → direct corridor to the baggage area (no passport control for Schengen flights)
- Baggage reclaim (T1 carousels)
- T1 arrivals exit → the driver is in the public area, with a sign
The T1 arrivals exit is physically separate from the T3 exit, even though the two terminals are connected internally. Make sure your driver knows you are landing at T1.
How My Rome Driver handles T1 vs T3: At the time of booking we ask for your flight number. Using the flight number we automatically monitor the arrival terminal. If your gate changes at the last minute, the driver adapts. You do not need to do anything.
The T2 arrivals area is on the same stretch as T1 — the driver positions themselves at the T2 arrivals exit with a name board. Here too, the flight number allows us to know in advance if you land at T2.
- At the time of booking: provide the flight number (e.g. AZ1234) — we monitor from that moment
- After collecting your luggage: send a WhatsApp message "coming out" — the driver moves towards the exit
- At the arrivals exit: look for the sign with your name in the welcome area
- If you don't see them immediately: call the number — the driver always answers
It is not mandatory to notify them during the flight or straight after landing. The automatic flight monitoring is sufficient. The "coming out" message is useful for intercontinental flights with long and variable customs times.
- The system monitors flight status in real time
- If the flight is delayed, the driver receives a notification and adjusts their arrival time
- No extra cost: waiting for a delayed flight is not charged (up to 60 minutes beyond the original landing time)
- Nothing to do: no need to call, no need to notify — everything is managed automatically
The only case where it is helpful to get in touch is if the delay exceeds 3–4 hours or if the flight is cancelled — in that case contact us via WhatsApp to reschedule.
2. Not providing the flight number at the time of booking Without the flight number we cannot automatically monitor delays and terminal changes. Always provide it.
3. Confusing T1 and T3 This is especially common for those arriving on ITA Airways/Alitalia flights on European routes (T1) who assume they are at T3. Check your boarding pass before landing.
4. Waiting at the taxi rank instead of the NCC area Taxis are picked up outside, in the queue at the taxi rank. Your NCC driver is inside the arrivals area, with a sign. They are not the same and they are not in the same spot.
5. Walking to the car park on your own The driver handles the luggage to the vehicle. You do not need to walk to the car park: wait for them to come to you after meeting at the exit.
