What to expect:
- Extremely heavy traffic from Friday afternoon, with queues on the Aurelia, the Lungotevere and all access routes to the Vatican
- ZTL active in the historic centre and areas adjacent to St Peter's Square, with additional restrictions during the Easter Vigil (Saturday evening) and the Urbi et Orbi blessing (Sunday noon)
- Car parks full from Saturday morning — finding a space within 1 km of the Vatican is virtually impossible without a prior reservation
- Public transport at its limit: Metro lines A and C, the central trams and tourist buses are overcrowded during peak hours
For those arriving from abroad — or for Romans who want to enjoy the long weekend without the stress of driving — a private driver at Easter is the solution that turns a chaotic weekend into a seamless experience.
Good Friday
- Via Crucis at the Colosseum (starts 21:15): traffic in the area is closed from 19:00. The driver drops you nearby in good time and picks you up at the end of the ceremony
- Historic quarter evenings: Trastevere, Testaccio, Campo de' Fiori — without worrying about parking
Holy Saturday
- Vatican Museums or Castel Sant'Angelo (online pre-booking recommended)
- Stroll at the Pincio and Villa Borghese — a stress-free destination
- Free evening: transfer to/from a restaurant in the historic centre
Easter Sunday
- St Peter's Square for the Mass and the Urbi et Orbi blessing (noon): the driver arrives in the area 45–60 minutes early, accompanies you to the entrance and waits in the authorised NCC parking zone
- Easter lunch with family or at a restaurant: direct transfer, no worries
Easter Monday
- Day trip: Castelli Romani (Frascati, Castel Gandolfo), Tivoli and Villa d'Este, Lago di Bracciano — all within one hour of Rome, perfect for the traditional Easter Monday excursion
ZTL access without issues. NCC vehicles are authorised to enter the Limited Traffic Zones in the historic centre. No risk of a fine, no fruitless driving round looking for an entrance.
Handling Easter traffic. The driver knows the alternative routes, the real travel times during major religious events and the reserved parking areas near the main venues. Arriving at the Via Crucis or the Urbi et Orbi on time is not a given with a last-minute taxi.
Comfort for families and groups. For those travelling with children, elderly travellers or a group of friends, the luxury van (up to 7 passengers) is the ideal solution: one vehicle, one dedicated driver, no need to coordinate multiple rides.
All rates are fully inclusive: fuel, motorway tolls, parking, ZTL, VAT. No hidden holiday surcharges.
The Easter weekend is one of the year's peak periods: availability fills up quickly. We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance to guarantee your preferred vehicle.
My Rome Driver offers the Easter driver service from €180 for the day, with a luxury vehicle saloon or van, fully inclusive and no surprises.
