Palatine Hill — included in the Colosseum ticket, offers a unique view over the Forums below. 30 minutes is enough for an essential visit.
Lunch break (13:00–14:00)
Rome has excellent authentic trattorias just steps from the Forums: avoid the "tourist menu" restaurants along the riverfront. Your driver knows the right places.
Afternoon (14:00–17:00)
Vatican and Sistine Chapel — allow 2–3 hours. Here too: online tickets are essential or you'll lose a large chunk of the day queuing. St Peter's Basilica is free.
